Town of Kremnica is the independent territorial autonomous and administrative unit of Slovak Republic. Kremnica practises its autonomous competences independently according to the law No. 369/1990 of the Legal Code about municipal system.

Original competencies of the municipality
– managing your own or state property
– decision on local taxes and fees
– management of the economic activity of the municipality
– construction and maintenance of local roads, public spaces
– services of public catering establishments, Services of the utilization of waste products
– care of public order
– investment and entrepreneurial activity to meet the needs of the population
– certification of documents and signatures in lists
– provision of nursing service
– ensuring the running of the kindergarten and the school dining rooms

Transferred competencies of the municipality
– construction issues
– founder competence in relation to elementary schools, lower-level healthcare     establishments, district health centers, retirement homes, pensioners,
